Rahima Mohamed

Rahima Mohamed born and raised in Zimbabwe founded her fashion brand ‘Raaah’ in 2014. Award winning business woman, Rahima had previously considered owning her own boutiques and salons, but had not considered having her own brand, despite obviously taking to fashion design like a professional and finding success pretty quickly.

Rahima says that she has always had her own sense of style and loved fashion from childhood. She says: “I like to stand out”, but having her own brand was not part of the plan until only a few years ago. Nevertheless, in this few years, Rahimahas come a long way, turning her passion for fashion into action, with outlets on London’s Oxford Street and elsewhere.

Her first foray into the industry came with the launch of First Chapter Boutique, a women’s high end, ready to wear clothing and shoes. Not satisfied with this, Rahima decided to study Fashion Drawing at London College of Fashion, which gave her the confidence and inspiration to create her own designs, rather than retailing those of others who she admired.

Her debut collection ‘ Fly / Fly High’ was launched with the idea to create a lasting impression and inspire women to aim for more with their own personal style. Her original debutcollection offered versatility of expression, with creams and pale ivory, statements reds and classic blacks in bold, vintage-meets-contemporary designs that women can be confident will arouse the interest in others. Her designs were clean and cutting edge, or thoroughly feminine modern classics for the confidant, contemporary woman.

Since launching in Africa Fashion Week in Nigeria and at London’s biggest trade show, Pure London two years ago, after only being in the industry a matter of months, her elegantdesigns and brand that appeals to all ages have been snapped up by retailers looking for clothes that exude confidence and luxuriant style. Women can choose from ready to wear or made to measure designs that will absolutely help you rock your day.

Raaah’s gorgeous, all out glam and fun ready to wear pieces range from trench coats, through bodysuits, skirts, and two piece shorts suits, crocheted dresses, or with uber-glam power shoulders, shockingly high heeled shoes and more besides. They rightfully earned her a nomination for Designer of the Year award and has been sought out by celebrities.

Since then, she has made the feminine aesthetic central to all of her designs which always express feminine strength, always aiming for “vibrant, stylish and classy” in each of her collections since. After a time away from the catwalk, we are really excited to see her latest all woman designs with her latest collection at Zimbabwe’s Fashion Showcase this July.
